Rochdale defender Dan Moss has been ruled out for the rest of the 2026-27 season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained against Oldham. The 25-year-old suffered the serious knee injury during his side's 2-0 League Two victory over their neighbours on 19 September.
Manager Jimmy McNulty described Moss as an amazing person who will return stronger from the devastating setback. "He's an amazing person and we're devastated for him, but I don't think he'll let it define him," McNulty told the club's official website. "He'll come back as an amazing, stronger player."
The injury is a significant blow for Rochdale, who are handling a tight League Two season. For Oldham, the defeat in that match contributed to a difficult start that sees them 21st in the table with just seven points from eight games. Their recent form of one win in five matches, including a 4-1 home loss to Salford City last time out, underlines the challenge ahead.
Oldham must now prepare for their next fixture without Moss, who was a key figure for the opposition. The club also confirmed defender Laurence Maguire is facing around 10 weeks out with a calf problem, adding to the defensive concerns detailed on our injuries list.
