Oldham Athletic has welcomed 15-year-old Charlie Price to their academy after his football talent was spotted by former Latics midfielder Dan Gardner. Charlie, a pupil at EdStart Schools in Oldham, has shown significant improvement in both his attitude and performance since joining the academy. His journey began when Gardner noticed his skills during school football activities and inter-school matches. Growing up in Newton Heath, Charlie has always had a passion for football, influenced by the area's rich football history. He played for various grassroots teams before taking a break, during which his potential was recognized at EdStart Schools. With Gardner's support, Charlie has now transitioned into the Oldham Athletic setup, where he is training while continuing his education. EdStart's focus on understanding and supporting students has helped Charlie stay disciplined, as he balances his academic responsibilities with his football ambitions. Oldham Athletic's academy manager, Micky Mellon, emphasized the importance of attitude and self-discipline alongside talent, noting that Charlie's progress has been impressive since he joined the club's system.
